Right here in Franklin TN, Nissan already has a prototype of the soon to be released "electric car". Our govenor was actually able to test drive it himself. After driving it around the plant and neighborhoods of Franklin, He stated "It has a very nice feel about it. It's a different experience, but in no way is inferior to driving a gasoline car. In fact, I think I really like the quietness of it and obviously you feel a lot better about what you're doing to the environment in a car like this than in any gasoline car."
Although he is for saving fuel, his concern is now using electricity. He has suggested building solar powered charging stations, reducing the use of man made electricity. At least 3 to start with (Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga). He is not wanting to see these cars tied to garages throughout Nashville.
The car is a zero emission vehicle and can go up to 100 miles on a single charge! That would get most people to and from work every day without a drop of gas. In 2010 keep your eye out for these! As a proud resident of Franklin Tn. this is a great asset to our community and a solid effort to going green!
